Packing Guide PDF

To ensure the safe delivery of your laptop, we suggest that you follow these basic packaging guidelines:

1.    Pack your laptop in its original packaging or a similar well padded and secure box. Make sure that the laptop fits comfortably to avoid damage to the box and consequent damage to the laptop (please specify in writing on the Service Request Form if you want your box back). A computer bag or carry case should not be used for packaging when shipping your laptop as they do not offer enough protection

2.     Generously wrap the laptop separately and place all accessories on the side of the laptop not on top of it as this could cause the screen to break

3.     Use plenty of strong cushioning material such as bubble wrap to prevent movement of the items within the box and to absorb pressure and knocks (do not use shredded paper or similar material as they offer no protection from impacts).

4.     Loop the DC & AC cables loosely between your fingers and place the adaptor in the box. Do not use the cable to knot tie the loops, do not crimp the cables and do not store the adaptor or any other item where it could put pressure on the laptop LCD. Damage to the LCD screen may result.

5.     Use on the box the relevant Address Label:

IMPORTANT

Back up all your data before sending your laptop for repair

Include a completed and signed Service Request Form (ensure to include your login details such as username and passwords)

If the fault is power related, include the laptop’s power adaptor. This will allow us to check whether the power adaptor is the reason for the malfunction. Please do not send any other accessories and peripherals.

Include all the recovery CDs for non-Toshiba repairs
